Canoeing
On all of our trips that include canoeing it should
be noted that we are referring to river canoeing. The level of canoeing
ranges from Class I on Sampler
programs to Class III on Mountains
to Sea. None of our trips do canoeing over Class III. Even though
a trip such as the Mountains
to Sea is noted to do Class III rapids it is still up to the discretion
of the leaders as to whether individuals and/or group will be allowed
to run the Class III’s, for safety purposes.
Experience
on trips ranges from beginner to novice. All trips are designed
to teach the participants the basics of canoeing and river running.
Participants are teamed up with a partner to paddle with, as all
our canoes are tandem boats.
The number of days on the river varies from one on Sampler
programs to three on New River Adventure
programs.
Most of our programs such as a New River Adventure
involve canoe packing. This is where the group will carry all their gear
with them on the river and camp at designated sites along the river. Other
programs such as a Sampler only
do one day of canoeing while Seekers
have a combination of the two.
The following is a list of all Cheerio Adventures programs
that include canoeing:
