Kayaking
Kay-ak (ki’ ak’) n. [[Esk]]
an Eskimo canoe make of skins completely covering a wooden frame except
for a small opening for the paddler.
Our
definition is a little different from Webster’s. While the
basic idea is the same, the kayaks used by Cheerio Adventures are
state of the art boats made of a plastic material which is very
durable. The kayaks are also designed to do things the Eskimos never
even thought about, such as run white water rivers, do; enders,
pirouettes, cart wheels, spins, and many other exciting maneuvers.
Even though participants may not be ready for all of those maneuvers,
they have to start somewhere.
The programs that include kayaking are designed for participants
that range from those that have never even seen a kayak to novice paddlers.
The amount of kayaking is generally 1 to 2 days.
